Employee Burnout Classified As A Sickness By The World Health Organization
CHICAGO (CBS)--It's common to hear people say they're stressed out or exhausted from work.
But sometimes it can be more serious than that.
The World Health Organization has classified "burnout" as an official medical diagnosis.
Patients must have three symptoms: exhaustion, feeling mental distance or cynicism about work and problems getting a task completed.
Burnout applies exclusively to work and not other situations.
