Derrek Lee Activated from Bereavement List
The Chicago Cubs announced that they have activated Derrek Lee from the bereavement list and optioned Micah Hoffpauir back to Triple-A Iowa. On Tuesday Lee was placed on the bereavement list and didn't play in any of the games this week against the San Francisco Giants.
Lee is having a down year batting only .246 with 20 doubles, 12 HRs and knocking in 52 RBI in 106 games this season.
Hoffpauir was recalled on Tuesday to take Lee's roster spot and was 0-7 in the three games he played in the Giants series.
