26-Year-Old Woman Killed In Chicago Lawn Drive-By Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS)-- A young woman killed in a drive-by shooting on Chicago's southwest side.

Stoni Bridges, 26, was sitting in a parked car with her boyfriend in the 5000 block of West 46th Street, when someone opened fire around 11 p.m. Monday.

Bullets shattered the driver's side window of their dark red Chrysler sedan. Bridges was shot in the chest, and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Victor Bridges said his niece, Stoni – or Kyesha, as her friends called her – was full of life.

"She used to laugh and joke and smile all the time," he said. "I mean, I miss her, man."

Detectives are still working to find out if she was actually the intended target, but her uncle doesn't believe so.

"She wasn't the intended target, man," he said. "Probably wasn't shooting at her. I don't think so."

Police said neither Stoni Bridges nor her boyfriend have had trouble with police before.

No arrests have been made.
