CHICAGO (CBS) -- People impacted by tornado damage in downstate Washington and the typhoon in the Philippines need help.

And CBS and the Red Cross are asking you to do just that.

On Tuesday, Nov. 26, CBS 2, CBS Radio and the Red Cross of Greater Chicago, will be holding a fund-raiser radio/telethon at the CBS 2 Broadcast Center at 22 W. Washington.

There are several ways that you can give:

  • You can make a donation RIGHT NOW online at cbschicago.com/redcross
  • On Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., callers will be available to take your donation at 855 350 2900. (Your call might even be answered by Santa, or a CBS personality)
  • You can text "TYPHOON" to 90999 to give to Philippines disaster relief or REDCROSS to 90999 for local relief.
  • If you are downtown on Tuesday, stop by before the Daley Plaza tree lighting and make a donation in person. Red Cross street teams will be on hand to help.

"As a proud, lifelong resident of the Chicago area, I know we are a grateful and giving community, searching for ways to help ease the suffering among our neighbors in Illinois, Indiana and the Philippines," CBS 2 President and General Manager, Marty Wilke explained. "Creating A Day of Giving just prior to the Thanksgiving Holiday is our way of using the CBS Chicago broadcast megaphone to remind people to give thanks and give back and support the essential disaster relief programs provided by our American Red Cross."

Thank you so much for your support!
