Mesa, Ariz. (CBS) -- Chicago Cub shortstop Starlin Castro was removed from the Cubs -Royals game after the first inning with a strained right hamstring on Sunday. Castro was to be evaluated by the medical staff later today. The team is calling the injury a mild strain.
Castro had a strain of the left hamstring on February 27 2013 and missed 10 days of spring training.
Castro played the entire 2013 season without re-injuring his hamstring last season.
