Zach LaVine, Bulls veterans' familiarity with each other breeds confidence
CHICAGO (CBS) – It shouldn't take long for this year's Bulls to gel, mainly because guard Zach LaVine and the rest of the presumed starters have each been with the team for at least two seasons.
CBS 2's Jori Parys had the latest on a team hoping familiarity can breed a spot in the playoffs for just the second time in seven years.
The Bulls held a long practice to get ready for the season opener on Wednesday night at the United Center when the third year of the team's "big three" begins. That level of familiarity has the team feeling ready.
"We should have the most confidence in the world," LaVine said. "We understood how we played at the end of the season when everybody was healthy, the confidence we had, the strides we made. We've had a really good training camp, very competitive. We should have confidence going into the season. I think we're going to hit adversity just like every other team is, but we should have very high hopes and set our goals high."
LaVine was also confident about entering a season fully healthy after playing in three of the Bulls' five preseason games. He said it's been good coming back into camp in shape, in a rhythm, and not having to worry about rehab.
