Bulls Pull Off Trade To Land Mirotic

CHICAGO (CBS) The Chicago Bulls traded the No. 28 and No. 43 draft picks to the Minnesota Timberwolves for the draft rights to 6-10 forward Nikola Mirotic.

Mirotic currently plays for Real Madrid in Spain and his contract with the team runs through 2015. He likely won't play for the Bulls anytime soon, but Gar Forman wanted to limit the guaranteed contracts on his roster and he succeeded in doing so.

The Timberwolves acquired the No. 23 pick from the Houston Rockets in a trade that sent Jonny Flynn to Houston and Brad Miller to Minnesota. The Rockets were actually the team who drafted Mirotic, but he was sent to the Timberwolves in the deal and then turned around and traded to the Bulls.
