Bicyclist: Beer Bandits Attacked Me

JOLIET, Ill. (STMW) - A bicycle rider told police he was attacked by two beer bandits Wednesday.

The 47-year-old victim said he was riding around 10:50 p.m. at Plainfield Road and Wyoming Avenue when a black or dark blue sedan pulled in front of him.

"A Hispanic man in his 20s with a pencil-thin mustache got out of the passenger seat and asked the victim if he could help him," police said. The rider was then struck in the head from behind, spilling the case of Busch beer he was carrying onto the ground.

The men grabbed the cans, got back into the car and drove away. The victim refused medical treatment.
