Best Playgrounds In Chicago

Chicago is a high traffic and congested city with many neighborhoods having limited backyard space. Chicago parents are no strangers to having to check out their local parks to allow their child outdoor playtime. While going to the nearest park or local elementary school yard is the norm for regular play, there are some playgrounds in Chicago that are worth taking the extra drive to go see. Whether you're looking for an extraordinary park or unaware of the many different playgrounds your neighborhood has to offer, take advantage of what the city has to offer you and your child.

Indian Boundary Park
2500 W. Lunt Ave.
Chicago, IL 60645

This playground is located in the West Rogers Park area and has a unique look to go with its unique features. There is a walk-through zoo path to view animals, large duck pond and even some sprinklers for those extra hot Chicago summer days. However, the main attraction is definitely the playground area. Instead of the same old plastic construction, there is a wooden playground that is so large, you have to see it to believe it. Your children's imagination will run wild, whether it's their very own fort or the perfect place to play hide-and-seek.

The ground is constructed from shock-absorbent material, which is a great alternative to the wood chip flooring used at so many other playgrounds around Chicago. The entire area is fenced with only a single swing door to make for an ultra safe and fun place to take the kids.
