With the Christmas holiday upon us, perhaps now is the best time to consider including a unique, handmade item on your shopping list. A truly one-of-a-kind holiday shopping experience, the show will be held at Chicago's Merchandise Mart, a world renowned destination attracting more than 35,000 visitors per day.

Located on Chicago's Magnificent Mile, the Lotton Gallery's handmade glass art creations are considered among the best in the industry. Following their father's footsteps in a time-honored family tradition, David, Daniel and John Lotton are also successfully contributing their talents to the art form. The holiday tradition of Christkindlmarket originated in Nuremberg, Germany and dates back to the 16th century. According to European folklore, the Christkind is a fairy-like being with ethereal qualities who brings gifts and good cheer on the Christmas holiday. During this cherished annual event, held at the Daley Plaza, arts and crafts vendors will display an endless array of beautiful and delicately handmade gift items including Christmas ornaments, jewelry, woodcarvings, toys and clocks. In special celebration of the festivities this year, a Christkind will be present to deliver many special blessings for the entire holiday season.

A quaint and cozy arts and crafts shop with a nostalgic feel of antiquity, Gallimaufry Gallery carries a wonderful selection of quality handmade gifts. The Lincoln Square store opened its doors to the public in 1975 when Pat Rodarte and Michael Merkle made their artistic debut displaying their original fabric and stained glass creations. As more local craftspeople expressed an interest in selling homemade goods, the gallery quickly developed into a unique presence in the neighborhood. Today, synonymous with its name, Gallimaufry has come to represent a great mix of collectible items from national and international artists.
