Polish and Pour Nail Spa and Bar
1244 N. Wells St.
Chicago, IL 60610
In addition to professional technicians with real skill, Polish and Pour Nail Spa and Bar is known for accommodating group events. The Old Town location serves alcohol and for now, it's BYOB in the Streeterville location. The vibe is elegant yet easy and fun and the shops can almost always accommodate walk-ins since there are enough stations and technicians to take care of you when you have the time to sneak in for a manicure. According to Edita Bernardino, COO, "Best of all, we are reasonably priced!"

While River North, the Gold Coast, Wicker Park and Bucktown are jammed with grooming services and spas, this neck of the West Loop is bereft of sophisticated spots to get an outstanding manicure. Then there's Spa Space, quite near the Metra station, which is a real oasis for serenity and a bevy of hand and nail treatments. Spa Space will even send out for delicious food for you from Pastoral in the Chicago French Market and there's complimentary Mighty Leaf tea and a bottomless bowl of M&Ms available at all times. Choose a Rose Petal manicure, one for Man Hands or a Seasonal Aromatherapy Manicure, an upgraded classic manicure that includes a scented hand scrub and hydrating massage. Are your hands a real mess? You need the Road to Recovery option which is a longer transformative service that treats hands, cuticles, nails and includes a take-home treatment product.

Is a bar? Is it a club? Is it a spa? It's kind of all three, really. Beauty Bar offers what are now famous manicure and martini specials daily. Get your hands and nails primed and order a Deep Condition drink (a refreshing dry gin gimlet) or any of a number of cocktails. The space also serves as a venue for performance and musical artists and its specials are downright fantastic. Getting a manicure here means so much more than merely dishing about your ex while your nails get buffed.

Got your mojo workin'? This Wicker Park shop will certainly get it cranked up with the use of handmade products scented with your childhood favorites (sugar cookies, frosting, candy), free cocktails and sweets, and manicures good enough for hand models as well as those who have weak, thin, peeling, dehydrated or otherwise funky fingers. Consider stopping in on Sunday when "Beauty and Brunch" means a mani and homemade, seasonal brunch offerings.
Juko Nail & Skin Rescue
2130 W. Division St.
Chicago, IL 60622
The worst part of a mani or pedi is knowing that it's almost over and clients love Juko for a number of reasons, one of which being that services are not rushed. There is absolutely no shade thrown if you're a minute late and the enormous range of nail polish colors would get an artist aroused. The shop backs up its no-chip promise by telling you you can come back in for a fix if it chips in a certain number of days. Oh, and there's wine!
