Best Paint And Sips In Chicago

When it comes to spending an evening out with friends or a loved one, you might be looking for a few ideas that don't include staking out a table at your favorite bar. What's one to do? Consider reserving a spot at a paint-and-sip, where you can paint ceramics or a portrait while sipping a glass (or two) of wine. Whether you're looking for a unique date idea or just want to shake up your weekend routine, consider checking out the following paint-and-sips in the Chicago area.

Located in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood, Arts n Spirits offers a number of classes where you can learn how to paint while sipping your favorite beverage. Many of the classes are themed and have included classes focusing on painting Chicago's famed skyline and sunsets. The venue is BYOB, too, so bring a bottle of wine to sip while painting. Arts n Spirits is also available for private parties, including bachelor and bachelorette parties and birthdays, and has family days once per month. If you're interested in attending a particular class, it is advisable to register in advance. Drop-in times are also available.

If you're in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood and feel the need to create some art, consider checking out the studio of Glazed Expressions. The BYOB studio offers a number of pieces of pottery that you can paint, including plates, pots, animal figurines, bowls, pitchers and so much more. After painting a piece, it is glazed and cooked in a kiln, and will be ready for you to pick up in about a week. The studio is also available for children to use, and can be used for parties, too.

Head out to the Jefferson Park neighborhood and sign up for a BYOB paint-and-sip class at Sip & Paint. The classes have included painting the winter skyline, and public classes are available. You can also plan your next soiree at Sip & Paint if you'd like to try something a bit different. Instructions and art supplies are included, so you can unleash the painter in you while spending an evening out with friends.

Don't worry, you can still let loose and paint to your heart's content in the 'burbs, too. At Tipsy Paint in the North Shore suburb of Glenview, you can sign up for an instructional class so you can hone your skills while having some fun. The studio also offers open hours, so you can paint without attending a class if that's more your style, and it is available for private events, too. Tipsy Paint is BYOB, so pack your favorite bottle of wine for this unique experience.

Heads up: Don't forget to pack a glass and a corkscrew if you're bringing your own beverage, as well as an ID for proof of age. You should also plan to wear clothes that can withstand a paint stain or three. Finally, plan to consult the studio to see what type of alcohol is allowed, as well as when you are allowed to bring a bottle.
