When the warm weather rolls into Chicago, there is no better way to see the city than by bike. Lakeshore Bike offers bike rentals in Chicago for $10/hour, $30/half day (four hours), $40/full day and $50/day/road bike. Bike and Roll Chicago offers adult bike rentals starting at $10 an hour. This company also offers bike add-ons for an additional fee such as tagalongs, wagons and child seats. On The Route Bicycles has three locations. It rents hybrids and single speeds out of its Lakeview and downtown locations. The hourly rate for single speeds and hybrids is $10/hour, but there is also a package of four hours for $30 and a full day (from open to close) for $45. On The Route does not have overnight rentals. It has a small selection of road bikes for rent at the downtown locations and the rate is $150 for 24 hours. On The Route Bicycles have locks and helmets for all rentals.

Divvy Bikes annual memberships can be purchased online for $75, or a 24-hour pass for $7, which can be purchased from any Divvy Station. The annual membership and 24-hour pass allows for unlimited 30-minute bike trips, any time over the 30 minutes incurs overage fees depending on the amount of time. Annual members receive a key in the mail and the key is placed in the slot at any station with an available bike. Those who purchase a 24-hour pass are given a code that they can type into the keypad on any dock that has an available bike. Bikes can be locked back up at any station. A station map is available on the website and there is a huge selection of stations available in Chicago. This bike rental system is great for those looking to do errands, commuting to work or any type of short travel time.
