Deborah Jane Martin Of Arlington Heights Held Without Bond, Charged With Parents' Murder

CHICAGO (CBS) -- An Arlington Heights woman has been ordered held without bond after she was charged with the murder of her two parents in their home on Sunday.

Police were called to the scene after a chilling 911 call from the suspect's mother, Anne Martin, who was heard gasping for breath and moaning, prosecutors said.

Assistant States Attorney Lorna Amado-Chevlin said the suspect, Deborah Jane Martin, 43, lived with her parents at the home.

On the 911 call, Amado-Chevlin said, Anne Martin can be heard pleading, "No, Debbie!" Her dying gasps were heard on the call.

Police responded to the home in the 0-100 block of South Derbyshire after receiving a 911 call from the home around 12:30 a.m.

When they arrived, police had to force their way into the home and found the Anne, 71, and David Martin, 72, lying dead from multiple stab wounds.

David Martin was found in the front hallway, near the living room, Amado-Chevlin said. Anne Martin was found slain in the kitchen, near the rear door.

Deborah Martin confronted responding officers inside the home. Police said it appeared she had just taken a shower.

Police found a journal in which Deborah Martin laid out plans to kill her parents with the knife. The most recent such entry was from June 2, Amado-Chevlin said. Police also recovered the knife that they believe was used in the killings.

The next court hearing is set for June 27.
