Ald. Fioretti Hospitalized; Former Mayoral Candidate Had Flu-Like Symptoms

(CBS) – Second Ward Ald. Bob Fioretti has been hospitalized with flu-like symptoms.

Fioretti, who launched an unsuccessful mayoral bid earlier this year, went to Northwestern Memorial Hospital Tuesday with a 102 fever, a political adviser said in a written statement.

Fioretti, who is a cancer survivor, has undergone tests and blood work. Although he'll remain under observation, he is expected to make a full recovery, the statement said.
