Fulton Co. ends jail bookings for misdemeanors: new diversion program explained
To ease overcrowding at the Rice Street Jail, Fulton County will stop booking people for certain misdemeanor offenses. Instead, eligible individuals will be connected with local diversion programs offering food, transit cards, clothing, and support services to address underlying needs and reduce repeat offenses.
