Former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kim Zolciak's teenage son faces 2 sex crime charges
The teenage son of former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kim Zolciak and former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Kroy Biermann is facing two serious felony charges in Georgia.
According to court records, Kroy Biermann Jr. is charged with aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery. Both charges are connected to an alleged incident on April 23.
The case was filed Aug. 19 and remains open. Prosecutors are still in the early stages of the case, and Biermann has not been formally indicted.
Because Biermann is a juvenile and the allegations involve two serious crimes, Georgia law requires the case to begin in adult court. Prosecutors could later decide to move it to juvenile court.
His next hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sept. 1 before Judge Todd Ashley.
Zolciak was an original cast member of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." The elder Biermann played linebacker for the Falcons after the team selected him in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL draft.
