Documentary filmmaker Chuck Braverman created the opening montage for the dystopian Charlton Heston thriller "Soylent Green" (1973), using period and contemporary photographs to depict how industrialization and overpopulation turned the Earth into a polluted mess - just the kind of place where a new kind of food is needed.
