Two People Found Shot And Killed In Stockton; Year Total Now Stands At 55

STOCKTON (CBS13) - Two people were shot and killed in Stockton early Monday morning, bringing the 2012 total to 55.

These shootings make four fatal shootings in the last 12 hours. A woman was killed Sunday after two dozen shots were fired into her car during a drive-by shooting. A 38-year-old man was shot in the parking lot of a McDonald's on North Wilson Way on Saturday afternoon.

At around midnight, someone discovered the bodies of the men, ages 21 and 31, respectively, in the 300 block of Burkett Avenue, says Officer Joe Silva of the Stockton Police Department.

Silva says one victim was a gang member and the other was a parolee.

Detectives have been working 24-hour shifts since Saturday to investigate the shootings.

Police do not have a motive for this shooting, nor have they identified any suspects.
