The U.S. defeated Iran in RoboCup 2015, the World Cup for humanoid robots on July 22, 2015. The winning team from the University of Pennsylvania named ThORwin scored five goals to Iranian team Baset Adult-size's four goals at an exhibition centre in the central Chinese city of Hefei on July 22, 2015.
The annual competition for intelligent sporting machines drew a total of 175 teams from 47 countries and regions.
