Here are Dave Price and I on our perch above the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square doing parade duty on Thanksgiving Day. Once on the set, the parade comes fast and furious for three hours straight --- there's no time for a break!
That's my adorable assistant Lauren Donohue standing in for one of our interviews during parade rehearsals. The fake interviews we conduct for those run-throughs are hilarious -- at least we think so!
A look behind the scenes at our perch high above the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, Thursday, Nov. 23, 2007.
Dave and I interviewed New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and I could not resist asking him a few news questions. He's working with one of President Bill Clinton's advisors and studying up on foreign policy. So I wanted to know if that was in preparation for a presidential run. As you can imagine, I didn't get an answer on that one!
Neil Patrick Harris was with us for the second straight year. The star of the CBS hit comedy "How I Met Your Mother" is so funny in real life as well. He's really down to earth and charming. We had a great time!
Being so close to the giant balloons is always a real treat! Dave Price and I had a blast hosting the Thanksgiving Day parade. For some reason it was our best ever, maybe because we've done it together for five years and maybe it was the weather -- a sunny day in the low 60s.
