Uber will deliver a puppy to play with

While football might be on everyone's minds as we head into Super Bowl 50, there's another popular contest that has generated enthusiastic fans -- the Puppy Bowl. In a cross-promotion with Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl, Uber says it will be offering an on-demand puppy delivery service on Wednesday in select cities.

It's exactly what it sounds like. From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Uber users can log on to their apps, choose the "PUPPIES" option, and a puppy squad will arrive at the designated location for a 15-minute session of fetch or cuddling. The price is $30, and it's only available for Uber users in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, and San Francisco.

Become attached to your new furry friends? Uber is working with the Humane Society and other animal welfare organizations, and in many cases the puppies will be available for adoption. Last year, the company says the Uber Puppies program helped 70 pups find homes.

Animal Planet will also be matching delivery fees from each visit to support participating animal shelters and rescues.
