Two Women Locked in Vault During Waxahachie, Texas Bank Robbery; Nobody Hurt, Say Police

Vintage Bank in Waxahachie, Texas, Oct. 15, 2010 (CBS)

WAXAHACHIE, Texas (AP) Waxahachie police say two female bank employees were locked in a vault while a man robbed the bank and then fled.

Vintage Bank in Waxahachie, Texas, was robbed about 7 a.m. Friday. The Dallas Morning News reports that when police first arrived, they thought the robber might have still been in the bank and a SWAT team was sent to the scene.

When officers entered the bank at about 9 a.m., only the two employees were there. Police chief Charles "Chuck" Edge said that neither woman was hurt.

The school district in the community about 30 miles south of Dallas said an elementary school a few blocks from the bank was locked down for a couple hours on Friday as a precaution, as were all of the schools in the district.
