Trump tweets about Berlin Christmas market suspect Anis Amri

Donald Trump tweeted Friday afternoon about what Berlin Christmas market suspect Anis Amri said in a video recorded before he ran down and killed a dozen people, and injured scores more.

“’By God’s will we will slaughter you pigs, I swear, we will...slaughter you,’” Mr. Trump tweeted, quoting the video. Calling it a “purely religious threat,” Mr. Trump asked, “When will the U.S., and all countries, fight back?”

In a video released by ISIS, Amri pledged allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr-al-Baghdadi, threatened to kill “crusaders who bombard Muslims,” and called on his “Muslim brothers” to join him in jihad. Amri was shot and killed by police in Milan Friday after his murder spree in Berlin.

Just a day ago, Mr. Trump was asked about his proposals concerning Muslims. Outside Mar-a-Lago, where he’s staying through the holidays, a reporter questioned whether he was reconsidering any of his plans regarding restrictions on Muslims.

“You know my plans all along,” he said.

The president-elect, during his campaign has said he would temporarily suspend immigration from some of the most dangerous countries in the world. Mr. Trump said in a speech in August that “we should only admit in this country those who share our values and respect our people.” He has called for “extreme vetting” of immigrants from some countries, as well as an ideological test.
