[How to Operate the CBS.com Video Player] face="arial, helvetica" size="-1"> To view the video on CBS.com, you will need a browser that supports javascript, and you will need one of two video players which can be downloaded free over the Internet:
the Windows Media Player, or
the RealPlayer.
When you click on a video link on CBS.com, a new window should open with the CBS.com Video Viewer inside of it. If you already have a Video Viewer open, then you should locate that player in your taskbar and use it. In order to prevent clutter, you cannot open a two Video Viewers simultaneously.
If the window does not open, then you may not have javascript enabled. You should open up your browser's preferences or options dialog box (available from the Edit or View menus) and make sure that javascript is enabled.
In the CBS.com Video Viewer, simply click on one of the four buttons at the top of the window in order to specify which type of player you wish to use, and what connection you use to access the Internet. You should choose a connection speed that is equal to or slwer than the devide you use to connect to the Internet. Users on a T1, cable modem, or dual-channel ISDN line should choose the "ISDN" connection. Users on a single-channel ISDN line, or a 56K or 28.8 modem should choose the "28.8" connection.
If you have a player and choose the appropriate format and connection speed but your browser tells you still need a plug-in to view the video, then you need to re-configure your browser. Many browsers will help you do this. RealPlayer users can also configure their browsers by following the instructions available at http://service.real.com/help/faq/index.html.
The new RealPlayer G2 (Beta Release) is currently incompatible with the CBS.com Video Viewer. We are currently resolving this problem; please check back Friday, August 21 to view CBS.com video with the RealPlayer G2.
