The Showbuzz Weekly Forecast

This week's highlights include the season premiere of "Prison Break," the release of albums from Paris Hilton and Danity Kane, Andre 3000 and Big Boi star in "Idlewild," and the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards honors the best in television.

MOVIES:

Andre 3000 and Big Boi, both members of the hip-hop group Outkast, star as partners in a 1920s speakeasy in "Idlewild", opening Aug. 25 The film also stars Terrence Howard and Paula Jai Parker.

Mark Wahlberg and Greg Kinnear star in the true story of a 30-year-old Philadelphia bartender who tries out for a spot on the Eagles in "Invincible', out Aug. 25.

Also opening Aug. 25 are the family film "How To Eat Fried Worms" and the drama "The Quiet" starring Elisha Cuthbert.

MUSIC:

Paris Hilton releases her debut album, "Paris," which she says offers a very "eclectic" mix of music.

Danity Kane, an all-female group put together by Diddy on MTV's "Making of the Band," releases its self-titled debut album.

Hip-hop and R&B artist Kelis celebrates her birthday Aug. 21, then releases her latest album, "Kelis Was Here," the following day.

TV:

Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), his brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) and a ragtag group of fellow cons made their "Prison Break" at the end of the show's debut season last year. This season, which premieres Aug. 21, the guys will try to stay alive on the outside.

Spike Lee unveils his Hurricane Katrina documentary, "When The Levees Broke: A Requiem In Four Acts," on HBO. Part one will premiere on Aug. 21 and part two will premiere on Aug. 22. All four hours of the documentary will air again on Aug. 29, the anniversary of the hurricane.

Fox's thriller "Vanished" and Oxygen's "Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty" both premiere on Aug. 22. MTV's high school football documentary, "Two-a-Days," debuts Aug. 23 and on Aug. 25, HBO's "Real Time With Bill Maher" returns.

This week's season finales include Bravo's "Tabloid Wars" on Aug. 21, NBC's "Treasure Hunters," and Bravo's "Work Out" on Aug. 22. USA's "Psych" and "Monk" wrap on Aug. 25.

HBO's "Deadwood" and "Lucky Louie;" USA's "The 4400" and "The Dead Zone;" and Comedy Central's "Reno 911" all sign off on Aug. 27.

Rounding out the week is the 58th Annual Prime Time Emmy Awards on NBC on Aug. 27, beginning with red carpet coverage at 7 p.m.

DVD:

The 2005 CBS sci-fi series "Threshold" was cancelled before the end of its first season. Now fans of the show can see all 13 episodes, including the four that never aired in the United States, on "Threshold: The Complete Series", in stores Aug. 22.

Other television shows out on DVD Aug. 22 include season two of "House," season two of "Veronica Mars," and "Invasion: The Complete Series."

Movies on DVD include "Just My Luck" starring Lindsay Lohan, "Silent Hill" starring Radha Mitchell, and "Poseidon" starring Kurt Russell and Josh Lucas.

THEATER:

R&B singer Usher will make his Broadway debut on Aug. 22 in "Chicago." He'll play the part of lawyer Billy Flynn, the role Jerry Orbach played in the original production and Richard Gere took on in 2002's movie version. The revival runs through Oct. 1.
