Swiss National Player Found Dead

Hockey player Chad Silver, who played for the Swiss national team, was found dead in his flat Thursday, his club's sports director said. He was 29.

Authorities ordered an autopsy, but there was no immediate information on the cause of death.

A statement from his team, the ZSC Lions, said Silver played in a league game without problem Tuesday in Davos and had participated in training Wednesday.

"When he didn't appear for the warmup Thursday morning, we found him dead in his bed," the statement said.

Investigating judge Daniel Regenmass said there was no indication of violence.
