Stop Screwing Around and Get Serious

Times are hard, and it looks like they're not getting better any time soon. Prospects are drying up. Long term customers are disappearing. Layoffs have become commonplace. So I'm changing the thrust of this blog. Sales Machine will now focus on the techniques and information you need to be successful during hard times. I'm going to do everything in my power to make this the year that you prove, to yourself and everyone around you, that you are the best of the best. But I can't do this alone. I need your help.

I've come to believe that the real value to Sales Machine isn't in the posts so much as in the comments. I'm constantly struck by the intelligence, experience and perceptiveness of Sales Machine readers. I'm certain that if we're all willing to share our expertise, we can help others in areas where we're strong, and get help from other in areas where we're weak.

If you guys are willing to contribute your ideas, we can turn this blog from a mere Sales Machine into a Success Machine. If you'll do your part, I'll get the best sales trainers and experts in the world involved, maybe even in helping to provide some personal coaching.

Everything from lead generation to post-sales support is on the table, but the posts are ALL going to be focused on what you need to do - TODAY - to make those numbers, beat your quota and build your career. No pie-in-the-sky sales theory. Nothing that requires a big budget.

And I'm putting a moratorium on the marketing screeds and the funny videos, except for weekend posts. Sales Machine is going contain tough talk, practical tips, and ideas you can put to use TODAY. And it's going to draw on ALL of our expertise.

So if you're willing to get serious about success, I need you to do something. I need you to make a commitment to yourself that you're going to be successful even in the midst of economic turmoil.
Don't kid yourself. If you aren't willing to make the commitment to yourself, explicitly and publicly, there will always be a part of you that's holding you back.
