Shark Will Return Next Week

Two-time British Open champion Greg Norman has recovered sooner than expected and will play in The International next week.

Norman, who had to skip last week's British Open, had a torn labrum in his right hip repaired five weeks ago. He had originally planned to return for the PGA Championship, which starts Aug. 17.

"I have worked hard to get my hip back into shape, and I may also be blessed by the fact that my body has a tendency to heal quickly," Norman said.

It was the second operation in two years for Norman. He missed seven months in 1998 because of surgery on his left shoulder.

Norman said he began rehabilitation within days of his hip surgery, and he began hitting balls earlier this week.

Norman won The International in 1989.
