Second Cup Café: Duncan Sheik
Duncan Sheik, a young New York-based singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer gives The Saturday Early Show Second Cup Café some toe-tapping music to listen to — playing a selected single from his fourth album, "Daylight."
Duncan emerged in 1996 with his self-titled debut and the hit single "Barely Breathing." His new single, "On a High," is soaring up the charts and collecting many fans.
Sheik says writing "Daylight" started as questions about music. He asked himself, "What is a pop song?" From there, he built upon his music. He became fascinated with the idea of making music that might get very emotional responses.
The 32-year-old made his current album for Atlantic Records in Los Angeles, in tandem with several other key New York and London sessions.
