Rosie's Temper Flares On "View" Set
Things aren't as hunky dory between Barbara Walters and Rosie O'Donnell as they made it seem on yesterday's "View."
Prior to taking the stage for Monday's show, tempers erupted in the hair and make-up room, the New York Post reports.
In a fight that started around 8:30 a.m., O'Donnell called the show's creator "a (bleeping) liar," the newspaper reports. Walters, fresh from a two week vacation, reportedly tried to hug the comedian to which O'Donnell recoiled and said, "You kept me in the newspapers this whole time!" spies tell the Post.
Walters reportedly tried to calm O'Donnell down by saying, "I did everything I could to squash the story." But O'Donnell fired back: "You didn't call me for 10 goddamn days, and you didn't tell me what you were going to say on television!"
The report says that O'Donnell is irate because Donald Trump went on "Larry King Live" two weeks ago and said Walters told him she regretted hiring O'Donnell for the spot on "The View" left by Meredith Vieira.![]()

O'Donnell is reportedly furious that Walters never called that an outright lie. "You went all around this and never called (Trump) a liar. You never said, 'Donald is lying.' You never called him a liar," she reportedly said to Walters.
Walters' attempts at defending herself were shot down when O'Donnell said, "Are you looking me in the face and denying you didn't tell him you didn't say this? You're a (bleeping) liar."
"Donald Trump is a personal friend of mine and has been a good friend to 'The View' for many years. I'm sorry there is friction between Donald and Rosie. That said, I do not regret for one moment my choice to hire Rosie O'Donnell as the moderator of 'The View.' I certainly hope and expect that this tempest will pass quickly," the statement said.
A rep for "The View" says the reported fight was merely a squabble. "From the first day Rosie spoke about Donald Trump, Barbara has been nothing but supportive of Rosie. Whatever happened in the hair and makeup room was only a squabble. It's business as usual. Everyone has moved on," publicist Karl Nilsson told The ShowBuzz Tuesday.
The newspaper says that the show's producer Bill Geddie also tried to intervene by telling O'Donnell she crossed the line.
According to the New York Post, O'Donnell fired back at Geddie by saying, "Cameras are now outside of my house where my wife and kids are."
On Monday's "View," O'Donnell responded to Trump's most recent attacks against her by saying, "Here's my official comment," and making a distorted face at the camera.
Walters, too, commented on the claim that she was ready to fire O'Donnell from the show. "Let me say definitively, everything that he said I said about her is totally untrue," Walters said.
