Rob And Amber Try Parenting

Like many busy parents, Jason and Lisa Zezza don't have many opportunities to get out. So Jason asked for some help in the babysitting department.

His letter said: "We have three kids, ages 10, 8 and 4. My wife is a stay-at-home mom who has spent the last 10 years taking care of my kids with hardly any breaks at all. I would like for Rob to come and babysit my three kids for an evening so my wife and I can go out and have a night on the town."

So The Early Show sent Rob to the Rescue. Having survived "Survivor," he and his wife Amber thought they could face the challenge of a night of babysitting.

Though once they arrived, Rob had a moment of doubt. "All of a sudden, I'm the little kid, and I'm afraid. Are they going to like me?"

Four-year-old Luke took one look and burst into tears, but Amber didn't miss a beat.

"I wasn't really too surprised when Luke was crying because he is the youngest and he probably doesn't like when mommy and daddy leave," she said. "I had a feeling he would warm up to us after some time. And it took a little longer than I thought. But, finally, his parents snuck out and everything was OK."

It didn't take long for Rob to connect with Luke over a few video games.

"Luke's 4 years old. And I act like I'm 4 most of the time. So we're kind of on the same level," he said. "We played hockey. He beat me. We played golf. He beat me."

Bedtime was pizza and, maybe, a little too much caffeine.

"Bedtime is going to be tough because the kids are pretty wound up. We fed them a lot of pop when we ate the pizza," said Amber. "But then again, we are the cool babysitters. Maybe we'll let them stay up a little later this time."

Next on the schedule was a game of hide and seek, though the Marianos complained they didn't stand a chance. "The kids have a big advantage here. This is their house. They know all the good spots," said Amber.

There was no doubt the children were having fun. In fact, perhaps a little too much fun.

"They're bouncing off the walls right now. Luckily, in about another hour and a half, their parents are coming home. And Amber and I get to leave, and it will be their problem," said Rob.

Rob and Amber said this assignment did not scare them from having kids of their own. But, for the moment, they're just enjoying their time together as newlyweds.
