(CBS) - The Resident Evil survival horror series re-released two of its most popular titles for Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. Both Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X received an HD makeover, while retaining the gameplay they are known for.
Code Veronica's fixed cameras and clunky controls return with no improvement but should please fans looking for a bit of nostalgia.
Resident Evil 4, which now is available on every system since the GameCube, brings with it the same gameplay that revitalized the series for modern gamers and paved the way for the amazing Resident Evil 5.
Fans of the series should be pleased with these two very different re-releases. Replaying these titles really shows the evolution of the franchise over the years from a tense survival horror game to the modern cinematic action/horror experience it is today.
Resident Evil 4 HD and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X HD are rated M for Mature by the ESRB. They are available now for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
