Report: Raiders Pursuing Donovan McNabb

The Oakland Raiders have reportedly stepped up in their pursuit of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb.

ESPN is reporting on its website that the Raiders are willing to meet the Eagles' asking price of a top-42 pick in the upcoming draft.

McNabb is one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, throwing for more than 35-hundred yards last season.

There also are connections between the Raiders and McNabb, ESPN reports. Raiders owner Al Davis and McNabb both went to Syracuse, and Oakland's offensive coordinator, Hue Jackson, is a distant cousin of McNabb's, the website notes.

Oakland used the number-one pick in the 2007 draft to take QB JaMarcus Russell, but he has been a bust.
