Raiders Coach Pleads Not Guilty
Oakland Raiders coach Jon Gruden has entered a plea of not guilty to misdemeanor drunken driving.
Gruden wasn't in court in Pleasanton on Thursday when the plea was entered by his attorney, Cristina Arguedas.
The coach, who was arrested Oct. 11 after the Raiders beat the San Diego Chargers, is scheduled for a pretrial hearing Nov. 30.
If convicted, he could face a maximum penalty of six months in jail, three to five years probation, a six-month driver's license suspension and a $1,400 fine.
Gruden's car was speeding, weaving and straddling lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
He had a blood-alcohol level of .10, according to court records. The legal limit is .08.
