Project Runway
It's down to the final four on "Project Runway"; elegant mom Laura, urban chic Michael (my fav), rocker Jeffery, and pattern crazy Uli.
The challenge this week is for each designer to make an outfit that showcases their design style. They have free reign this time. They also have a one-sheet where they must use three words to describe their style.
The budget is $250 and they have two days to complete the task. It seems Laura is taking her usual route of a beaded dress, and Uli has picked a crazy pattern again. Now is the time to do something different and show the judges they have range with their design.
Also, the winner of this challenge gets their outfit photographed by Gilles Bensimon for Elle's style section of their magazine. But first the designers take their models to the streets and photograph them. This picture will go on the one-sheet with the three words to describe their style.
Runway time: Uli's dress is a short version of the printed dress. It's not completely out of her box, but it's different. Her three words are fun, life and adventure.
Jeffery was the only one that chose to do something completely different. He made a red, white, and blue dress that's very romantic and soft. Opposite of what he normally sends down the runway. His three words are provocative, irreverent and romantic.
Laura sends a soft pink beaded gown — her signature look. Her three words are glamour, confidence and elegance
Michael, who has had some trouble this episode, made a plunging dark purple satin gown with strips going up the sides and around the neck. His three words are sexiness, sultry and sensuality.
The judges rip apart just about everyone except Uli. They think Michael and Laura's outfits are too boring, and Jeffery's dress looks too "milkmaid" according to Heidi. I think it was just some tough love before the big finale. I thought they all were good. There is no bottom two tonight. Three go on to fashion week at Byrant Park to show their line and one is out!
The winner tonight is Uli. Her design will be in Elle magazine and she is guaranteed a spot in fashion week.
Well, usually one person gets eliminated, EXCEPT for tonight. Everyone is in and they will all show at fashion week. Yipeeeeee! I think they are all great in their own unique ways and I can't wait to see each one shows a collection on the runway. These are four very talented people.
Next week is my favorite — the reunion show, which will be sure to pack a punch in drama. Love this show!
