Pitt Imposter Arrested In Dubai

A 29-year-old Jordanian salesman tried to use a fake ID with Brad Pitt's mug on it at a money exchange house in the United Arab Emirates, the Gulf News reported Thursday.

Turns out the man needs to read more tabloids: he claimed he didn't know it was Pitt's photo he downloaded from the Internet, the paper said.

According to the report, the man was charged by The Dubai Public Prosecution with forgery, using a fake document and trying to embezzle money with help from his brother who works as a teller at the exchange facility.

The man was arrested at a mall in Ghusais and now faces trial for forging the ID card which had an Arabic name on it and a photo of Pitt, the beau of actress Angelina Jolie.

The Dubai-based newspaper reported that an informant told police that the salesman was in cahoots with his brother to collect a large sum of unclaimed money left at the exchange house for three months.

In his statement to the police, the Jordanian man said his brother told him about the unclaimed money, the paper said. Police also say he confessed that he downloaded the picture of the actor from a Web site.
