(CBS) PHILADELPHIA - A naked man who was running in and out of traffic was struck by a car early Monday morning on Philadelphia's Roosevelt Boulevard.

But that was just the start of the things, according to investigators, who say the victim in this case ultimately attacked paramedics who were trying to treat him, and had to be tazed by police, CBS Philly reported.

Police said the man was struck by a car at about 5:45 a.m., and was knocked unconscious.

CBS Philly reports that while en-route to the hospital, he awoke on the gurney with an oxygen tank attached to him. Authorities say he punched one paramedic in the face, grabbed a pair of scissors, and caused superficial wounds to both paramedics.

Next, authorities say, the cops were called to the scene and the man exited the ambulance and swung the oxygen tank at them...eventually throwing it at a fire engine, breaking a window.

That's when the "victim" in this case was reportedly tazed by police and taken into custody.

The paramedics were treated at a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

According to CBS Philly, authorities say the driver of the car that hit the man did stop at the scene and was not charged.
