(CBS/AP) KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan officials say a man has rammed a motorcycle packed with explosives into a U.S. military convoy in the east, causing a blast that killed at least 12 Afghans.
Officials say the attack occurred in the province's capital Khost city about midday on Wednesday.
According to Khost provincial spokesman, Daud Afghan, 12 people were killed in the blast, which targeted a U.S. military convoy. Two women and three Afghan police were among the dead. He says 17 more were injured, mostly civilians.
Afghan said he does not have any information on casualties among U.S. forces. The U.S.-led military coalition, known as ISAF, confirmed the explosion, but did not offer information on casualties.
