NextServices' CEO: 'I Couldn't Do My Job Without...'
Ever wonder what apps and gear busy entrepreneurs use to boost their productivity, stay organized, and maintain their sanity? In our ongoing series, we ask company CEOs, founders, and other influential business folks to reveal their tech essentials.
The entrepreneur: Satish Malnaik, CEO of NextServices.
The business: Ann Arbor, MI-based NextServices offers healthcare management services to physicians and physician groups.
The tech tool that makes his life easier: "'Remember The Milk' -- it's a hard name to forget. Some time ago, I freed myself from being dependent on Outlook and went cloud-crazy, moving to tools like Google Calendar, Evernote, etc. I had also been hunting for a simple, easy-to-use task management tool I could access and manage from anywhere.
"I stumbled across RTM and found it to be perfect for my needs. The design is very simple, with some neat shortcuts to make task creation and management a breeze. It has a small learning curve, but a big bag of tricks that work perfectly once you get used to it.
"Different buckets help me manage both my personal and work sides from the same tool. They have a plug-in that displays tasks right alongside Gmail and Google Calendar -- awesome! RTM also syncs with Blackberry, iPhone, iPad, etc. The mobile version is completely worth the $25 a year. Task creation on the go is as simple as typing up a quick e-mail with your task in the subject line. It's been a boon so many times, especially when traveling, when I have to jot in reminders on the fly in a few seconds."
Specs: Remember The Milk offers free and Pro accounts. The latter costs $25 per year and includes priority e-mail support, mobile apps, and desktop syncing options.
