New McCain Ad: "Big Ideas For Serious Problems"
John McCain's campaign has released a new ad, "Ignite," which will air in Ohio and Pennsylvania. It is his first general election ad in those states, which are expected to be key battlegrounds in November.
"As President, John McCain will take the best ideas from both parties to spur innovation, invest in people and create jobs," an announcer says in the spot. "Taxes – simpler, fairer. Energy – cleaner, cheaper. Health care – portable and affordable. Workers retrained, mortgage debt restructured, education transformed. Initiatives that will unite us and ignite our economy. Big ideas for serious problems. John McCain."
As the Associated Press points out, McCain "is coupling the release of this ad with a speech in Pittsburgh in which he focuses on the gas tax, Medicare premiums and the tax deduction for dependent children." The ad is focused on "big ideas" over specific details, and appears designed to convince voters that McCain is prepared to tackle economic issues, an area that he has admitted in the past is not his strong suit.
