New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie quotes Bruce Springsteen on "SNL"

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie quoted from his idol Bruce Springsteen when he made a cameo appearance Saturday on "Saturday Night Live.''

The tough-talking governor ended his cameo on the show's "Weekend Update " segment by quoting from the rocker's song "Atlantic City."

Christie also poked fun at his notoriously short temper and the familiar blue fleece jacket that he has worn while touring the state following Superstorm Sandy.

Christie thanked the Red Cross and first responders. He also thanked his wife, who he said has put up with "a husband who has smelled like a wet fleece for the last three weeks." He took a swipe at New Jersey officials who failed to follow his orders before Sandy, refusing to thank "any of the stupid mayors" who ignored his evacuation orders, calling them "idiots."

His appearance came one day after he ducked questions about Twinkies-maker Hostess shutting down to avoid giving comedians fodder and saying he's on "SNL" enough.

Christie hasn't been shy about his passion for Bruce Springsteen, saying he's been to more than 100 shows and quoting lyrics in many of his speeches.

The two finally met - and hugged- at a benefit concert and telethon for storm victims.

"We hugged," Christie said later during a press briefing. "He told me it's official: we're friends. I told the president today, actually, that the hug was great and when we got home, there was a lot of weeping because of the hug. And the president asked why, I said, 'Well, to be honest, I was the one doing the weeping.'"
