Miller Questionable For Game 4
Reggie Miller, the hero of Game 3 in the Eastern Conference finals, is uncertain for Game 4.
Miller didn't practice Sunday and remained in the Indiana Pacers' locker room receiving treatment for the mild right ankle sprain he sustained during the third quarter of the Pacers' 107-105 victory over the Chicago Bulls.
Miller, Indiana's career-leader in regular-season and playoff scoring, scored 13 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter Saturday.
Indiana trainer David Craig listed Miller's status as day-to-day.
"It's very sore," Miller said. "I'm getting around the clock treatment and I want to be ready to go ... I want to have some mobility and right now, I don't have any mobility. If we were playing today, I couldn't play."
Miller's teammates anticipated that he would play and the Bulls insisted that if he did, they wouldn't change their game plan.
"I don't know how he's feeling," Travis Best said. ``The character he showed in the game, just to come out and hit those big shots when he was hurting so bad, shows a lot about him. I don't think anybody will be able to keep him out of the game, even if the ankle is sprained real bad."
"We always assume that if a guy can walk on the court, he's 100 percent and he's a threat," Chicago coach Phil Jackson said. "You're not going to take your game apart simply because a guy is in some jeopardy or has some injury. If you do, then you're doing some disservice to your team, yourself and to the
game."
Chicago guard Ron Harper said, "We have a very solid game plan that worked fine in these games. We're going to stick to our game plan."
