Magic's Hill Could Miss 2 Weeks

Grant Hill sat out Orlando's 107-104 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night with a sore left ankle, an injury that could sideline him for two weeks.

"It's frustrating," he said. "I'm not sure how long I'll be out, but it's more frustrating not being yourself."

Hill, who broke his ankle during the playoffs last season while playing for the Detroit Pistons, had surgery in May. He has not been 100 percent since signing a seven-year, $94 million contract with Orlando.

In Friday's loss to the 76ers, Hill was 1-for-7 in the fourth quarter and limped noticeably.

"You're so sure after sitting out the whole summer that you'd start training camp and be ready to play," Hill said. "But that's not the way it happened."

The Magic also were without Tracy McGrady on Saturday night. McGrady drew a one-game suspension from the NBA for his two-handed shove to the face of Philadelphia's Eric Snow.

Hill played in the Magic's season opener, then sat out their next game before returning against the Sixers. He is averaging 13.5 points through two games more than eight points below his career average.

According to team spokesman George Galante, Hill will not be placed on the injured list. Galante did say Hill is likely to miss the next two weeks.

McGrady, who also was fined $7,500 by the NBA, made the trip to Atlanta but was not allowed to enter Philips Arena. McGrady has a team-high 21.3 scoring average through the first three games.
