As mentioned here last week: We spoke with people who know about addiction and homelessness. And they predicted Ted Williams was in for a rough ride. Williams the man with the super voice who went from panhandling on a street corner to instant fame finally found himself on "Dr. Phil." And there he confessed, he'd been drinking again. Perhaps Williams will get the treatment he needs now. But, I'm
wondering what responsibility the news shows who fought so desperately to get him on their programs bare. All that recognition. All that attention. The job offers poured in. Did anyone stop for a moment
and ask themselves, "Is all this good for Ted Williams?' I'm thinking we didn't. A man on the margins struggling to find his way ended up lost again. Thanks in no small part to us.
Just a minute. I'm Harry Smith, CBS News.
