If you weren't reading the morning headlines carefully enough (or did it before having your coffee), you might have wondered why a former "Cheers" star was caught up in a political scandal.

Some people who saw news reports on Friday referring to a "Christie ally" (as in, an ally of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie -- David Wildstein -- who is set to plead guilty to charges related to the 2013 politically-motivated lane closures on the George Washington Bridge) misread it as actress Kirstie Alley.

Alley's name soon began trending on Twitter, and she took to the social media platform to joke about her sudden Internet popularity.
