JFK Jr.: 'American Son'

The 1999 crash of John F. Kennedy Jr.'s plane ended his life at just 38 years old and left many wondering what might have been.

Kennedy's last few years had been spent working on George, the political magazine he launched in 1995 where Richard Blow was a senior editor. So now Blow details his experiences with Kennedy in his new book American Son.

Blow says he wanted to write about the side of Kennedy that was fascinating and really important. Blow adds he got to see Kennedy's sadness about cynicism in the media and wanted to share that with the public. Blow adds he was frustrated that when Kennedy died, people said "nice, but not serious" things about him. Blow says it is important to show what Kennedy had accomplished in his life and hopes his book accomplishes that.
