Islanders Acquire Craig Janney

The New York Islanders have acquired center Craig Janney from the Tampa Bay Lightning for a sixth-round draft pick in 1999. Announcement of the deal was made Monday by Islanders general manager-coach Mike Milbury.

"Throughout his career, Craig has consistently proven that he can distribute the puck and produce offensively," Milbury said in a statement. "Since that is obviously an area were we are lacking, I'm certain he can help us."
