Inspectors Go Home
(Baghdad, Iraq) -- Chief U-N weapons inspector Richard Butler has been welcomed back to Baghdad with a demonstration by several thousand Iraqis.
The crowd burned American flags and accused Butler of being a U-S agent. The demonstration was organized by government-sponsored unions. Butler returned to Iraq to tell leaders that no sites, including President Saddam Hussein's palaces, should remain off limits to his teams.
He says the inspectors' work ``could be done quite quickly with full Iraqi cooperation.'' Butler says instead of cooperating, Iraqi officials are engaged in a ``concealment program.''
