How to Clear the Clutter from Your Inbox
If you're tired of an inbox that's overflowing with mail, you'll want to read blogger Darren Rowse's account of how he managed to go from 10,000 inbox messages to zero in a matter of 24 hours.
He started by routing all his e-mail accounts through Gmail, then made good use of Gmail's label and filtering features to organize and/or eliminate messages. He also engaged in "merciless unsubscribing" of newsletters and "agressive archiving" of old mail.
Obviously this approach hinges on Gmail, which is suitable for small-biz users but probably not for corporate types. A home-office denizen myself, I use a similar method, but I've had some trouble getting Outlook to get along with Gmail's IMAP servers. What about you? Do you have a killer solution for keeping your inbox neat and tidy? If so, we'd love to hear about it.
